National Service..tahniah my ass!

Today was like any normal day..the crappy birds were singing their crappy songs and the crappy bees were buzzing everywhere. (There are many bees in my block)

• Lamest comic ever I drew during double Chinese. 

I walked into class innocently. People were talking, some were sleeping, some were doing homework, some were copying homework. I prepared to joined the last group when chin shern suddenly yelled at me.

'Oi, April! You kena!'


And I was like,
'Kena what? Cancer?'


And he was like,
'Huh? No..you kena NS!'


And I was like,
'Whaaaat??!! How you know?!! It's not possible!!!'


And he was like,
'It's true! I saw your name in Sin Chew Jit Po! (haha..equivalent to Chinese version of the Star I think?)


And I was like,
'Whaaat?! Where?! Let me See!'


And he was like,
'No lah, I didn't bring to school. I saw this morning before coming out. There was a list there, and your name was at the top, April Melody Tan Hui En.'


And I was all,
'NoOOOOOO!!!!'


After that, I pretty much went around complaining the crap out of everyone's ears. Next class, next block, next country. I was almost absolutely sure I told everybody I knew. Even some random strangers knew about it from standing too close to where I was complaining. I finally went back and sat down. Zi Yue sat down beside me. I realize I haven't told him about the 'news' yet. Guess I didn't get everybody.


So I was like,
'Eh Zi Yue arh..I kena NS.'


And he was like,
'How you know?


And I was like,
'Chin Shern told me.'


And he was like,
'Oh..that one is it? He bluff you one lah.'


And I was like,
'Huh? Are you sure? But he told me got! And then he say many people also got!'


And he was like,
'No lah...he bluff one...really.'


And I was all,
'I. AM. SO. GOING. TO. KILL. HIM.'


And he was all,
'Hey, but don't say I'm the one that told you okay!' (Oops. XD)


I immediately went about hunting for chin shern. Too bad I couldn't find him...maybe he heard my roar/war cry from next class and had the logic to hide.

Anyway, I had to re-inform everyone again. That's hard when you already told everyone you know. After about half an hour of that, I sat down again to a much needed rest. And this time a different guy was beside me.

And he was like,
'Oh man...I kena NS arh...'


Knowingly, I was like,
'Ahh..did Chin Shern tell you?'


And he was like,
'Huh? No. Send through SMS one. You can go check. Ask Chin Dong to send for you.'


And I was all,
'CHIN DOOOOOOOONG!!!'


And he was like,
'What?'


And I was all desperate and was like,
'Help me check! I. NEED. TO. KNOW.'


And he was all freaked out and was like
'Alright, alright. What's your IC?'

And I was like
'930415-06...(you don't think I was gonna tell you my IC were you? YOu might turn out to be some rapist or whatever.)'


And he was like,
'Okay. Done and...sent. You gotta wait awhile though. The last one took 20 minutes.'


And I was like,
'Why so long?'


And he was like,
'I don't know.'




30 minutes later


'Who's birthday is on october 22nd?'


And someone was like,
'Me!'


And he was like,
'Good..you didn't get. Hmm..who's birthday on February 25th?'


And a different someone else was like,
'Me!'


And he was like,
'Aah..you didn't get also. Let's see...oh my gosh! Who's birthday April 15th!'


And I was like,
'Me?' 


And he was like,
'Congratulations dude.'


And I was like,
'No. You are lying to me. I am not believing you. I won't fall for this again.'


And he was like,
'Hahah. Fine then if you don't believe me.'


And I was all,
'Give me the phone!'


And the phone was like,
Tahniah! 930415-06-CUTE telah dipilih untuk menyertai PLKN Siri 8/2011


And I was all,
'NOOOOOO!!This is not happening.'


And he was like,
'Hahah..first girl in our class. Congratulations!'


First of all, I demand the government change the message. It should read something like,

Seribu maaf. 930321-08-UGLY dengan malangnya telah dipilih untuk menyertai PLKN.

or

Tahniah! 930321-08-UGLY telah...dibubarkan (?)

I couldn't accept the fact that I got that message, so I imagined what the message MEANT to type was 'Narnia', and not 'Tahniah'. Something like this:

NARNIA! NOW SHOWING IN CINEMAS! 

Sadly, no one believes in my theory. So I had to re-re-inform everybody. And actually, I don't really know if I'm happy or sad. If I really hated NS, I would be so down right? But nope, I'm all hyper and jumping around telling everybody.

NS is kinda cool I guess? You have to wear those uniforms though. Looks itchy and hot. On the bright side, it makes you look like Avatar!
